One of the most challenging navigation routes in the Mantiqueira mountain range includes the peaks of Pico dos Marins and Itaguaré, as well as a passage through the mysterious Pedra Redonda.
DAY 0 (before the expedition) : Meeting at the suggested accommodation in the city of Marmelópolis-MG at 9:00 PM. Meals not included.
DAY 1 : We will continue with a transfer for approximately 40 minutes to the base camp, parking lot, and trailhead. Trekking begins at 8:30 AM. Overnight stay in a tent at the advanced camp, from where we will attempt the summit on the same day without heavy packs. Breakfast and dinner included .
DAY 2 : We will wake up at 5:30 AM to break camp and head towards Advanced Camp 2, passing by the mysterious Round Rock. Overnight stay in a tent. Breakfast and dinner included.
DAY 3 : We will wake up at 5:00 AM to catch a glimpse of the sunrise behind Itaguaré and head towards its base, where we will leave our backpacks to attempt the true summit of Itaguaré (where the book is located). On the way back, with our backpacks on our backs, we will head towards the end of the crossing, in the city of Cruzeiro, to take the transfer (included) to Marmelópolis, where we left the cars.
